About this mattress

The LivingTopia Hybrid Prime Super King is a pocket-spring, foam and latex mattress made to the New Zealand super king size, 183cm x 203cm. Underneath is a 24cm pocket spring unit on 1.8mm wire with a foam surround encasing all four sides of the unit, and the comfort layers above are 3.5cm of wave foam, 1cm of gel memory foam, 1cm of natural latex and 2cm of support foam, reading as Firm, 2 out of 10 where 10 is softest. The soft knitted cover carries OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification and the foams carry CertiPUR-US®. It is 32cm thick with a euro top padded flush to the edge and weighs 46.0kg. It arrives roll-packed in a 43cm x 43cm x 193cm carton, which is what makes moving a mattress of this size and depth into a bedroom practical, and it is typically at full height within 72 hours.

A 24 cm pocket spring unit on 1.8 mm wire
Each spring in the 183 cm width takes only the load above it.
A gel memory foam layer over the springs
It softens under pressure and spreads the load where you press.
One centimetre of natural latex
The layer pushes back and recovers rather than holding an impression.
Firm, 2 out of 10 on our scale, where 10 is softest
The firmest of the three Hybrid mattresses on the deepest springs.
Euro top at 32 cm, padded out to the edge
A foam surround on four sides keeps the border from folding under weight.

Who this mattress suits

  • Couples taking the largest New Zealand size who want a firm, deep mattress rather than a plush one.
  • Beds used across their full 183 cm, where padding that runs flush to the edge changes how much of the surface is usable.
  • Heavier body weights sharing a bed, who want 24 cm of spring beneath the comfort layers.

Why choose the Hybrid Prime

Nearly two metres across, a super king puts the most demand on the spring unit and the edges. This one is 24 cm deep on 1.8 mm wire, and foam encases all four sides, which is what keeps the border from collapsing when someone sits on it.

Working from the cover down, the stack is wave foam at 3.5 cm, gel memory foam at 1 cm, natural latex at 1 cm and support foam at 2 cm. The gel layer softens under load and carries it sideways. The latex layer resists and springs back, so the surface does not keep an impression as someone moves across nearly two metres of bed.

At super king the three Hybrid tiers give three different surfaces, and the order is not the price order. This Prime is Firm at 2 out of 10 where 10 is softest, the firmest of them. The Classic is Firm at 3 out of 10 on 20 cm. The Plus is Medium Firm at 4 out of 10 on 25 cm and has the most give. Buy this one for firmness and depth; buy the Plus if you want the surface to yield.

Weight is the argument for roll-packing at this size: 46 kg of mattress at 32 cm deep is not something to carry at full loft. Boxed at 43 cm x 43 cm x 193 cm, it comes in as a carton. The knitted cover is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and the foams to CertiPUR-US®; certificate numbers are available from our team on request.

Firmness is felt, not measured. Body shape, weight and sleeping position all change how the same surface reads, so use this level to compare our mattresses with each other rather than as a promise of how it will feel to you.

Size and fit

Mattress sizeSuper King
Dimensions183 cm x 203 cm

Mattress weight46.0 kg
Shipping box43 cm x 43 cm x 193 cm
BeddingDeep-wall super king fitted sheets

Deep-wall super king fitted sheets are needed, and at 32 cm the mattress is deeper than most deep-wall sheets are cut for, so check the wall measurement before ordering. The 43 cm x 43 cm x 193 cm carton is what makes a mattress of this width and depth possible to move through a house. Unroll it on the base and it is typically at full height within 72 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How firm is the super king?

Firm, 2 out of 10 where 10 is softest, the firmest reading of the three Hybrid mattresses.

Why is the middle tier softer than this one?

Because the Plus puts memory foam above its springs, reading Medium Firm at 4 out of 10 where 10 is softest, while this Prime puts its extra height into a 24 cm spring unit and reads 2. The Classic sits at 3. Softest is the middle model, not the tallest.

Why put gel memory foam and latex in the same mattress?

Because they do opposite things. The gel layer softens under load and spreads it outwards. The latex layer resists and returns, so the top does not hold the shape you leave. Neither is a medical feature; they change how the first few centimetres respond. The foam surround is a third and separate part, wrapped round the springs to hold the edge.

What certification does this mattress have?

The knitted cover is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and the foam layers to CertiPUR-US®. Certificate numbers are available from our team on request.

Which sheets should I buy?

Deep-wall super king fitted sheets, and check the wall depth stated, since 32 cm is deeper than a lot of deep-wall sets are made for.

Is partner movement noticeable on a super king?

Pocketed springs keep more of it near the person moving, and 183 cm of width adds distance between sleepers, so less reaches the other side than on a linked coil mattress.
