Feel describes how far a mattress surface gives before the support layer takes over, graded on a 1 to 10 scale where 10 is the softest. Betalife grades every mattress on five levels: Plush, Medium Plush, Medium, Medium Firm and Firm. Feel is set by the comfort layers above the support core, not by the spring or foam core alone, which is why two mattresses with the same coil arrangement can sit at different levels. Feel is also independent of size and of construction, so one level covers pocket spring, memory foam, latex and foam builds, and holds across every size within a single range.
