Hybrid Prime Queen Mattress
About this mattress
The LivingTopia Hybrid Prime Queen is a pocket-spring, foam and latex mattress in the New Zealand queen size, 153cm x 203cm. A 24cm pocket spring unit on 1.8mm wire carries the load, with a foam surround encasing all four sides of the unit, and 3.5cm of wave foam, 1cm of gel memory foam, 1cm of natural latex and 2cm of support foam sit above it for a feel of Firm, 2 out of 10 where 10 is softest. Its soft knitted cover is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and its foams to CertiPUR-US®. Height is 32cm with a euro top padded flush to the edge, and the mattress weighs 39.4kg. Delivery is roll-packed in a 43cm x 43cm x 163cm carton, which is what makes a mattress of this weight and depth possible to bring up a staircase, and it is typically at full height within 72 hours.
Who this mattress suits
- Couples on a 153 cm queen who want the firmest of the three Hybrid surfaces.
- Two sleepers who use the full width, where the padded euro top runs flush to the edge rather than stopping short.
- Heavier body weights and back sleepers who want the deepest spring unit in the range under them.
Why choose the Hybrid Prime
The support in this queen is a 24 cm pocket spring unit on 1.8 mm wire, the deepest we use in the Hybrid range. Foam encases all four sides of the unit, which is what keeps the edge from collapsing when you sit on the side of the bed.
Four layers sit above it: 3.5 cm of wave foam, 1 cm of gel memory foam, 1 cm of natural latex and 2 cm of support foam. The gel memory foam softens the first few centimetres and spreads pressure where you press into it. The latex is the opposite kind of material, pushing back so that it recovers as you move.
A queen buyer working up the range will find the firmness goes down and then up again. The Classic is Firm at 3 out of 10 where 10 is softest. The Plus is Medium Firm at 4 out of 10 and, at 25 cm, is the softest-feeling of the three. This Prime, at 32 cm, is Firm at 2 out of 10 and the firmest. Extra height here buys spring depth, not cushioning.
A 39.4 kg queen at 32 cm is a genuinely difficult thing to carry at full loft. Rolled and boxed at 43 cm x 43 cm x 163 cm, it becomes a carton that fits through a doorway and around a stair turn. Cover certification is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and the foams are CertiPUR-US® certified, with certificate numbers available from our team on request.

Firmness is felt, not measured. Body shape, weight and sleeping position all change how the same surface reads, so use this level to compare our mattresses with each other rather than as a promise of how it will feel to you.
Size and fit
| Mattress size | Queen |
| Dimensions | 153 cm x 203 cm |
| Thickness | 32 cm |
| Mattress weight | 39.4 kg |
| Shipping box | 43 cm x 43 cm x 163 cm |
| Bedding | Deep-wall queen fitted sheets |
Deep-wall queen fitted sheets are the minimum here, and because 32 cm is deeper than most deep-wall sheets are cut for, check the wall measurement before buying. The 43 cm x 43 cm x 163 cm carton is what solves the real problem with a queen this deep, which is getting it into the room. Unroll it on the base and it is typically at full height within 72 hours.

Frequently asked questions
How firm is the queen?
Firm, 2 out of 10 where 10 is softest. The comfort layers are there to spread load, not to cushion, so the surface reads firm.
Why does the Plus feel softer than this Prime and the Classic?
The Plus adds a memory foam layer, which puts it at 4 out of 10 where 10 is softest, the most give of the three. The Classic sits at 3. This Prime is taller than both at 32 cm but firmer at 2, because the extra height is spring rather than foam.
Is the latex layer real latex?
Yes, a 1 cm layer of natural latex sits directly under the gel memory foam. It works by pushing back, so it returns to shape as you move, where the gel layer above it yields and spreads the load instead. Around the springs, a separate foam surround holds the edge of the bed.
What certification does this mattress have?
The knitted cover holds OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification and the foams hold CertiPUR-US®. Certificate numbers are available from our team on request.
Will standard queen sheets fit?
No. You need deep-wall queen fitted sheets, and at 32 cm it is worth checking the stated wall depth, as many deep-wall sets stop short of that.
How much partner movement transfers?
The springs are pocketed individually, so less of one sleeper's turning reaches the other side than on a connected coil bed. Across 153 cm of width there is room for it to fade.
