VINSON Fabric Single Bed Base - BLACK
- Fits a standard single mattress - The supplier specifies the NZ standard single size, 91 x 188 cm, for this base.
- Arrives fully assembled - The base ships built, so it goes straight into the room once it is through the door.
- Headboard bolt holes at 58.5 cm - A headboard can be added later without changing the base.
Description
The Vinson is a fabric-covered divan base rather than a slat frame: a 24 cm upholstered box on 15 cm adjustable legs, finished in black textured polyester. It arrives fully assembled, which is why the package measures the same as the base itself. The top deck is 91 x 190 cm and the supplier specifies the NZ standard single mattress, 91 x 188 cm, to sit on it. Bolt holes 58.5 cm apart let a headboard be fitted later, and the 15 cm leg height leaves clearance for under-bed storage. The mattress is sold separately.

Delivery & assembly
Ships as one assembled base
The single package measures 91 x 190 x 39 cm and weighs 17 kg, the same as the base, because it arrives built.
Measure the access route carefully
An assembled base cannot be angled the way a flat carton can. Check that a 190 x 91 x 39 cm rigid item will pass your doorways, stair turns and landings before ordering.
Light for its size
At 17 kg two people can carry it comfortably; the constraint is its shape rather than its weight.
Questions before you buy
What mattress goes on the Vinson single base?
A standard single mattress. The supplier specifies the NZ standard single size, 91 x 188 cm, sitting on the 91 x 190 cm top deck. The mattress is sold separately.
Does the Vinson base need assembly?
It arrives fully assembled. The package measures the same as the base, 91 x 190 x 39 cm at 17 kg, so the only job on delivery is getting it into the room and standing it on its legs.
Can a headboard be fitted to the Vinson?
There are bolt holes at the head end set 58.5 cm apart. Measure the fixing spacing on any headboard you are considering against that figure before buying the two together.
How tall is the Vinson base with a mattress on top?
The base alone is 39 cm: a 24 cm upholstered box on 15 cm legs. Add the depth of your mattress to find the finished sitting height.
What can be stored under the Vinson base?
The legs give 15 cm of clearance, which takes slim under-bed boxes and shallow drawers on castors. Deeper storage tubs will not clear it.
What is the Vinson covered in?
Black textured polyester fabric over a wood and metal box. A dark cover shows marks and scuffs less than a pale base, which matters on a base that sits at floor level.
Will an assembled base fit through my door?
It is 190 cm long, 91 cm wide and 39 cm tall as one rigid piece. Standard doorways take it on its side, but tight stair turns and low landings are worth measuring first.
