Description
The Vinson queen bed base is made in New Zealand and arrives fully built, so there is nothing to assemble. The upholstered box measures 153 x 203 cm and is 24 cm deep, standing 39 cm from the floor on six legs, which leaves 15 cm of clearance underneath for storage. The mattress sits on top of the padded platform rather than inside rails, so it takes a standard 153 x 203 cm queen mattress flush to the edges. Metal struts run through the base for support, the frame is padded with foam and covered in black polyester, and headboard screw holes are set 91.5 cm apart. The mattress and headboard are sold separately.

Questions before you buy
What size mattress does the black Vinson queen base hold?
A standard 153 x 203 cm queen. The padded platform is exactly the same size, so the mattress sits flush to all four edges instead of dropping inside a rail.
How far apart are the headboard fixing holes?
91.5 cm apart at the head end of the base. A headboard with matching centres can be bolted straight on; the headboard itself is bought separately.
How tall does the black queen base stand?
39 cm from floor to platform top — a 24 cm upholstered box sitting on 15 cm of leg. Six legs carry it and they can be swapped for a different height.
What can be stored under the black Vinson queen?
The 15 cm gap between the six legs suits flat under-bed boxes and slim cases. Measure taller containers against that 15 cm before buying them.
Will a 30.5 kg built base get into an upstairs bedroom?
It ships whole at 153 x 203 x 39 cm and 30.5 kg, so the narrowest doorway, stair turn and lift on the route all need measuring first. A split base is the alternative where access is tight.
What keeps the black platform flat under a mattress?
Metal struts run through the base beneath the foam padding. The outer cover is black polyester across the top and all four sides, and it can be gently wiped clean.
