Description
The Vinson king single bed base is made in New Zealand and arrives fully built, so there is nothing to assemble. The upholstered box measures 107 x 203 cm and is 24 cm deep, standing 39 cm from the floor on six legs, which leaves 15 cm of clearance underneath for storage. The mattress sits on top of the padded platform rather than inside rails, so it takes a standard 107 x 203 cm king single mattress. Metal struts run through the base for support, the frame is padded with foam and covered in black polyester, and headboard screw holes are set 58.5 cm apart. The mattress and headboard are sold separately.

Questions before you buy
What mattress size does the black king single base take?
A standard king single, 107 x 203 cm, matching the platform exactly. The mattress rests on the padded top of the base rather than dropping into a recessed frame.
What is the headboard hole spacing on the king single?
58.5 cm apart at the head end of the base. A headboard bought separately needs matching centres at that spacing in order to bolt on.
How high is the black king single base?
39 cm to the top of the platform, made up of a 24 cm padded box on 15 cm legs. Six legs carry it and they can be swapped if a lower bed is wanted.
Is this base light enough to move between rooms?
At 21.3 kg it is the lightest base in the Vinson range and ships built at 107 x 203 x 39 cm. One person can usually shift it, though the 203 cm length needs clearance at corners.
How much space is under the black king single base?
Around 15 cm, set by the leg height rather than the box. That is enough for low plastic tubs and vacuum bags, and shallow enough that tall boxes should be measured first.
What is the black king single base made of?
A box padded with foam and covered in black polyester, with metal struts inside keeping the platform flat. It is manufactured in New Zealand and arrives fully built.
