Description
The Vinson double bed base is made in New Zealand and arrives fully built, so there is nothing to assemble. The upholstered box measures 137 x 188 cm and is 24 cm deep, standing 39 cm from the floor on six legs, which leaves 15 cm of clearance underneath for storage. The mattress sits on top of the padded platform rather than inside rails, so it takes a standard 138 x 188 cm double mattress. Metal struts run through the base for support, the frame is padded with foam and covered in grey polyester, and headboard screw holes are set 91.5 cm apart. The mattress and headboard are sold separately.

Questions before you buy
Which mattress fits the Vinson double bed base?
A standard 138 x 188 cm double mattress. It lies on top of the padded 137 x 188 cm platform rather than dropping inside rails, so the fit is not tight.
Does the Vinson double bed base need assembling?
No. It is made in New Zealand and arrives built, so it only needs to be carried in and stood on its legs.
Can a headboard be fitted to the Vinson double bed base?
Yes. There are screw holes at the head end set 91.5 cm apart. The headboard itself is not included.
What fits under the Vinson double bed base?
About 15 cm of clearance between the six legs, which suits flat under-bed storage boxes and slim cases rather than tall containers.
How tall is the Vinson double bed base?
39 cm overall with the legs supplied — a 24 cm upholstered box on 15 cm of leg. The same base is also shown on low legs, giving 32 cm overall.
Will the Vinson double bed base fit through a doorway?
It ships built at 137 x 188 x 39 cm and 25.5 kg, so measure the narrowest doorway, stair turn and lift on the route before delivery.
