Natan Tallboy 5 Drawer Chest Dresser - Espresso

The Natan Tallboy 5 Drawer Chest Dresser uses two internal drawer sizes: 80cm x 36cm x 14cm for the large drawers and 37.5cm x 32cm x 14cm for the small ones. Small drawers suit socks, underwear and accessories; the wide ones take folded shirts and knitwear. That split saves rummaging through one deep drawer.

85cm wide by 40cm deep is the Natan tallboy footprint, standing 100cm tall on four raised legs. Allow clear space in front for a drawer to pull fully out. The 40cm depth is shallow enough to sit in a bedroom walkway without narrowing it as much as a deeper chest would.

100cm puts the Natan tallboy top at about waist height for most adults, high enough to work as a dressing surface for a lamp, tray or jewellery box, and low enough to see into the top drawer without reaching over. Check the height against a nearby window sill before choosing its position.

16mm particle board is listed for the Natan tallboy, finished in wood-look melamine in espresso, with an MDF bottom panel and metal parts. Alloy handles sit on the drawer fronts. A dark melamine shows dust sooner than a pale finish, so a regular wipe with a damp cloth keeps the surface even.

Two cartons: 114cm x 47cm x 13cm at 24kg and 95cm x 46cm x 16cm at 20kg. Both are under 1.2m, so they turn on a stair landing more easily than a wardrobe carton. The assembled tallboy weighs 40kg, light enough to shift with a second person once it is empty.

Build the carcass first, check it sits square and level on all four legs, then fit the five drawer boxes and their fronts last, since that sequence keeps the gaps between the drawer fronts even. Assembly is required. Work on a blanket so the espresso melamine does not scuff against the floor.
