The give comes from 2 cm of gel-infused slow-recovery foam at the surface, over 3.5 cm of high-density foam. Slow-recovery foam takes the shape of whatever presses into it and holds it for a moment; the gel through it draws heat away instead of letting the layer warm up the way plain memory foam does. The king weighs 44 kg. It arrives rolled and compressed rather than flat, which is what lets a 32 cm mattress come into the house as a parcel one or two people can steer.
