Maroon Single Wooden Bunk Bed Frame - Oak

- Tested to AS/NZS 4220:2010The Australian and New Zealand bunk bed standard.
- Flexible wooden slat baseA ready support surface under each mattress.
Description
Maroon is the bunk to buy when the room dictates which side the ladder has to go. The ladder is fixed rather than hooked on, but it can be installed on the left or the right, so the bed can sit against whichever wall suits. Vertical slatted headboards and footboards keep the oak finish light rather than heavy, and a flexible wooden slat base sits under each mattress. The first ladder rung is 52 cm off the ground, in line with the mandatory bunk bed standard.

Decide the ladder side first
Work out which side the ladder should go before you start assembly, so the bed can be built against the wall you have in mind.
Questions before you buy
Which side does the Maroon ladder go on?
Either. The ladder is securely fixed to the frame, but it can be installed on the left or the right, so you can place the bed against whichever wall suits the room. Decide before you start assembly.
What mattress size does the Maroon bunk take?
The listed suitable mattress size is 92 x 192 cm per bunk, sold separately. That is slightly longer than some single mattresses, so measure the mattress you already own against those figures before ordering.
Does this bunk bed meet the New Zealand safety standard?
Maroon is tested to AS/NZS 4220:2010, the Australian and New Zealand bunk bed standard, and the first ladder rung sits 52 cm from the ground in line with the mandatory standard. Report numbers are available from our team on request.
What is under each mattress?
A flexible wooden slat base forms the support surface on both the upper and lower bunk, so no separate foundation is needed under the mattress.
How tall is the Maroon bunk?
150 cm from the floor to the top of the frame, on a 199 x 98 cm footprint. Measure the ceiling directly above where the bed will sit and allow room to sit up on the top bunk.
What age is the top bunk suitable for?
The supplier does not recommend the top bunk for children under 9 years old. That guidance is set by the manufacturer and appears in the product listing.
Should this bunk bed be secured to the wall?
A wall fixing kit is supplied with the bed and we strongly recommend using it. Find out what the wall behind the bed is built from before assembly day, so you have fixings suited to that surface.
