Description

Kinga is built low. At 120 cm to the top rail it is a low-rise bunk, so a younger child climbs two steps rather than a full ladder, and an adult can still reach across the top mattress to change a sheet. Shiplap detailing on the panels keeps it looking like bedroom furniture rather than a frame, and a shelf on the top rail gives whoever sleeps up there somewhere to put a phone and a book. It takes two standard single mattresses, sold separately.

Mattress compatibility

Two standard single mattresses

Kinga is designed for two standard single mattresses, one per bunk. Mattresses are not included; the listing is for the bed frame only.

Room footprint and ceiling

The assembled bed is 199 cm long, 100 cm wide and 120 cm tall. Check the length against your wall run and the height against any sloping ceiling or window sill.

Mattress depth on the top bunk

Measure the depth of the mattress going on the top bunk against the guardrail height in the dimension diagram, so the rail still stands clear above the sleeping surface.

Materials & support

  • Pine and ply frame

Pine wood and ply wood make up the frame, finished in white with shiplap detailing on the panels.

  • Two-step ladder, built in

The ladder is part of the frame rather than a separate piece that hooks on.

  • Shelf on the top fence

A shelf sits on the top rail for the things a child wants beside them overnight.

Questions before you buy

How tall is the Kinga bunk bed?

120 cm from the floor to the top rail. That is a low-rise bunk, which suits rooms with lower or sloping ceilings, and it means an adult can reach across the top mattress to change a sheet without climbing.

What mattresses does it take, and are they included?

Two standard single mattresses, one per bunk, sold separately. The listing is for the bed frame only. Measure your mattresses against the 199 x 100 cm frame before ordering.

What is the shelf on the top rail for?

The shelf sits on the top fence and holds what a child wants beside them overnight, such as a phone, a book or a glass of water. It is part of the frame, not a separate accessory.

How does the ladder work on this bunk?

Kinga has a two-step ladder built into the frame. Because the bed stands only 120 cm tall, getting to the top bunk is two steps rather than a full-height climb.

What is the Kinga frame made from?

Pine wood and ply wood, finished in white, with shiplap detailing on the panels. The top bunk is fitted with safety guardrails.

How does it arrive and does it need assembling?

Assembly is required. Kinga arrives in two cartons: 197 x 27 x 20.5 cm at 24.5 kg, and 99.5 x 33 x 20 cm at 19.1 kg. Check the 197 cm carton against doorways, hallway corners and stair turns first.

Should this bunk bed be secured to the wall?

A wall fixing kit is supplied with the bed and we strongly recommend using it. Find out what the wall behind the bed is built from before assembly day, so you have fixings suited to that surface.
