Description
A double bed takes up most of a small bedroom, so what happens at the foot of it matters. Dowe's footboard is 40 cm, against an 85 cm headboard, which keeps the end of the bed low and the room feeling wider than it is. The frame is iron tube with metal beams and struts under the mattress and adjustable metal legs. Allow 201 x 144 cm of floor for a 188 x 137 cm mattress, with 27.5 cm of clear space underneath.

What mattress does the Dowe double take?
A standard double at 188 x 137 cm, sold separately. The frame measures 201 x 144 cm because the headboard, footboard and side rails sit outside the mattress area.
How high is the foot of the bed?
The footboard is 40 cm, less than half the 85 cm headboard. In a room where a double already fills most of the floor, that low foot end keeps the space from feeling closed in.
How much floor space should I allow?
201 x 144 cm. That is 13 cm longer and 7 cm wider than the mattress, so measuring the room to mattress size will not be enough.
Does the mattress need a base or slats added?
No. Metal beams and struts span the frame and form the mattress support surface, so the mattress goes straight onto it. No timber is listed in the build.
