Description
Dobson sleeps three on the footprint of a double bed and publishes the numbers you need to check it. A standard 91 x 190 cm single goes on top, a standard 137 x 188 cm double underneath, guardrails stand 37.5 cm above the top bunk base, and there is 24.5 cm of clearance under the bottom. The frame is iron tube with extra beams and struts, the feet adjust for an uneven floor, and it is certified to AS/NZS 4220:2010. The ladder mounts on the right side only.

The ladder is right-side only
The ladder can only be installed on the right side of the frame. Check which wall the bed will sit against before you order.

The assembled bunk is 201.5 cm long, 148 cm wide and 165 cm tall. Measure the ceiling above the top bunk as well as the floor space.

Which mattresses does the Dobson triple bunk need?

Can the ladder go on the left side instead?
No, the ladder installs on the right side of the frame only. Work out which wall the bed will sit against and which way the room opens before ordering, because this cannot be reversed during assembly.
How high are the guardrails and how much room is under the bottom bunk?
Guardrails stand 37.5 cm above the top bunk base and there is 24.5 cm of clearance beneath the lower bunk. Subtract your mattress depth from 37.5 cm to see the rail height above the sleeping surface.
Does this bunk bed meet the New Zealand safety standard?
Dobson is certified to AS/NZS 4220:2010, the Australian and New Zealand bunk bed standard, and that standard is listed in its specifications. Certificate and report numbers are available from our team on request.
What if the bedroom floor is uneven?
The support legs are adjustable, so the frame can be levelled on a floor that is not perfectly flat. Non-slip pads under the feet sit between the metal frame and your floor surface.
How tall is it, and will it fit under my ceiling?
Dobson stands 165 cm to the top of the frame. Measure the ceiling directly above where the bed will go, and leave room for someone to sit up on the top bunk rather than measuring to the frame alone.
