At 52.5cm high, the Congo bedside table sits at roughly mattress level on a typical bed base, so the top is usable from a lying position. Measure from your floor to the top of the mattress before ordering. Tall bed frames or thick mattresses can put the sleeping surface well above the tabletop.

One drawer on metal runners takes small private items such as chargers, medication and notebooks, while the open shelf below suits books or a folded throw you want in sight. The Congo splits storage between hidden and visible so the 48cm wide top can stay clear for a lamp and phone.

Material is listed as MDF / Particle Board with a White Melamine finish and a black metal handle. Melamine is a sealed surface, so a damp cloth handles most marks; avoid leaving standing water on the top. The white finish shows dust more readily than darker tones, worth knowing beside a bed.

One carton of 61.5cm x 46.5cm x 16cm weighing 13.5kg contains the Congo bedside table. A single adult can usually manage that up a flight of stairs, though the length makes a tight landing awkward.
