Is this a memory foam mattress or a spring mattress?
The Ultra Comfort King is both, and the combination is the point. A five-zone pocket spring unit does the supporting underneath, while the memory foam sits quilted into the top layer over a fibre pad. You get the bounce and easy movement of a spring bed with a surface that still contours to you.
What certification does this mattress have?
The cover fabric is OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified and the foams are CertiPUR-US certified. The mattress is also SGS tested for lead, cadmium and phthalates. That covers both what is against your skin and what is underneath you. Certificate numbers are available from our team on request.
Does a memory foam mattress like this sleep hot?
The memory foam here is a quilted top layer rather than the whole core, so there is far less foam holding heat than in an all-foam bed, and the pocket springs underneath leave air space through the mattress. The cover is a breathable knitted fabric. Betalife does not publish a cooling or gel treatment for this model, so we make no temperature-control claim beyond that construction.
Will it fit my king bed and my king sheets?
It measures 165 x 203 cm against the New Zealand standard king of 167 x 203 cm, so on a standard king frame you may see up to 2 cm of movement at one side, which is within the normal 1-2 cm variation between manufacturers. Standard NZ king fitted sheets are cut for 167 cm so they fit over it, but at 28.5 cm deep you will want a deep-wall king sheet rather than a standard one.
