Description
The Abigail Super King is an upholstered gas lift bed frame in grey linen fabric over a heavy-duty steel frame. The poplar slat base lifts on gas struts to open a storage compartment 30 cm deep beneath the whole bed. The dimension drawing gives an assembled size of 219 x 192.5 x 87 cm with an inner slat area of 207 x 184.5 cm, which takes a standard 183 x 203 cm super king mattress with room to spare. It arrives in two cartons for assembly at home; the mattress is sold separately.

Gas lift storage under the full base
The poplar slat base is mounted on gas struts and lifts as one piece, opening a compartment 30 cm deep that runs the full 219 x 192.5 cm footprint of the frame. On a super king this is the largest storage area in the range, and the struts carry the weight of the base as it rises.

Delivery & assembly
Arrives in two cartons
Carton A is 197 x 88 x 10.5 cm and 19 kg; carton B is 211 x 21.5 x 30 cm and 30 kg. The 211 cm carton is the one to measure stairwells, landings and doorways against.
Plan on two people
The heavier carton is 30 kg and over two metres long, and the 197 cm carton is 88 cm wide, so two people are needed for the carry.
Assembled in the room
The frame ships flat and is put together where it will be used, which avoids manoeuvring a 44.5 kg assembled super king frame through the house.
Questions before you buy
What mattress size fits the Abigail Super King gas lift bed?
A standard 183 x 203 cm super king mattress. The dimension drawing gives an inner slat area of 207 x 184.5 cm, so a full super king sits inside it with clearance on every side. The mattress is sold separately.
How much floor space does the Abigail Super King take up?
The assembled frame measures 219 x 192.5 cm, so allow a room at least 3 m wide to keep walking space on both sides. Height is 87 cm at the headboard.
How much storage is under the Abigail Super King bed?
The compartment is 30 cm deep and runs the full 219 x 192.5 cm footprint, because the whole slat base lifts rather than a drawer sliding out. It is the largest under-bed storage area in this frame range.
What is the Abigail Super King bed frame built from?
A heavy-duty steel frame carries the gas lift mechanism and a poplar slat base, with MDF panels behind grey linen upholstery. The assembled frame weighs 44.5 kg.
How tall is the tufted headboard on the Abigail Super King?
The button-tufted headboard stands 87 cm from the floor, with about 57 cm of it above the base and roughly 9 cm of padded thickness. It gives full back support when sitting up in bed.
How many cartons does the Abigail Super King bed frame arrive in?
It arrives in two cartons. Carton A is 197 x 88 x 10.5 cm at 19 kg, and carton B is 211 x 21.5 x 30 cm at 30 kg. Measure your access route against both the 211 cm length and the 88 cm width.
